Alleyway Theatre, Inc. awarded $96,000 by the New York State Council on the Arts for Projection and Live Capture Systems.

Buffalo, NY. Alleyway Theatre announced today a grant award totaling $96,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the organization’s Projection and Live Capture System. This grant is part of a capital project funding announcement by NYSCA, which totals over $86 million to 134 capital projects across New York State.  

This funding supports Alleyway's continuing investment in its technology. Past NYSCA support has provided funding for new lighting and sound technologies, and now Alleyway will enhance its equipment systems once again. "As designers continue to imagine spectacular scenarios, theatres must be ready to implement those dreams," says Alleyway Artistic Director Chris J Handley. "Don't think of this as just a projector to shine an image onto the upstage cyc. This new technology will allow us to be at the cutting edge of theatre design. I can't wait to see how our artists will put it to use.
